Terms and Conditions of Sale

Last Updated:22.09.2026

Welcome to Danaknit (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We operate the online shop hosted at danaknit.co.uk (the “Site”). By accessing our Site and placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before purchasing.

1. About Us & Contact Details

We are a business operating in the United Kingdom.

  • Trading Name: Danute Dapkuviene
  • Legal Entity Name: Sole Trader
  • Contact Email: info@danaknit.co.uk

2. Hand-Knitted Product Variations
  • Handmade Nature: All our products are individually hand-knitted using natural wool. Because these items are crafted by hand, there may be slight, natural variations in stitch, sizing, weave, and dye lot color between the product photos on our website and the item you receive. These minor variations are not considered manufacturing defects.
  • Care Instructions: Wool is a delicate, natural fibre. You must follow the care and washing instructions provided with your item. We are not liable for any shrinkage, felting, or damage caused by improper washing, tumble drying, or general wear and tear.

3. Contract Formation & Orders
  • Eligibility: By placing an order, you warrant that you are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts.
  • Order Acceptance: When you place an order via our WooCommerce store, you will receive an order confirmation email. This email acknowledges receipt of your order but does not mean it has been accepted.
  • Contract Entry: A binding contract between us is only formed when we formally dispatch your goods and send you a shipping confirmation email. We reserve the right to decline any order for reasons such as yarn unavailability or pricing errors.

4. Pricing and Payments
  • Currency: All prices on our Site are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (GBP).
  • Secure Payment: We accept payments securely via Stripe (credit/debit cards) and PayPal. Payment must be cleared in full before we dispatch your items. We do not store or have access to your full financial details.

5. Shipping and Delivery (UK Shipping)
  • Courier Service: All physical orders are dispatched and delivered using Royal Mail.
  • Delivery Timeframes: Estimated delivery dates provided at checkout are targets, not absolute guarantees. We are not liable for delayed deliveries caused by Royal Mail operational issues, strikes, or adverse weather conditions.
  • Risk and Ownership: The risk of loss or damage to the items passes to you the moment they are delivered to your shipping address. You own the goods once we have received payment in full and dispatched them.

6. Cancellations, Returns, and Refunds
  • 30-Day Return Window: We want you to love your handmade knitwear. We offer an extended 30-day return policy, which gives you 30 days from the date you receive your item to request a return.
  • Exclusions: Custom-made or personalized orders (such as custom sizing or specific requested colourways) cannot be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
  • Condition of Returns: To receive a full refund, items must be returned to us completely unused, unwashed, free of pet hair or scents, and in a resalable condition with original tags intact.
  • Return Shipping Costs:
    • Change of Mind: If you change your mind, do not like the item, or ordered the wrong size, you (the customer) must cover the cost of the return postage. We highly recommend using a tracked Royal Mail service, as we cannot issue a refund if the return package is lost in transit.
    • Our Fault / Faulty Items: If an item arrives damaged, structurally faulty, or we sent the incorrect item, we will cover the return shipping costs and arrange a replacement or full refund under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015. Please contact us immediately at info@danaknit.co.uk with photos of the issue.

7. Limitation of Liability
  • To the maximum extent permitted by UK law, Danaknit will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the website or products purchased from us.
  • Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraudulent misrepresentation.

8. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions, and any disputes arising from them, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales (or Scotland/Northern Ireland depending on where you reside within the UK). Any legal proceedings must be brought before the courts of the United Kingdom.

9. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
