🧶 Hand-Knit Wool Care Instructions

Thank you for choosing handmade! Because your item is lovingly hand-knit by Danaknit from natural wool, it requires gentle care to maintain its shape, softness, and size for years to come.

🧼 How to Wash Your Item

Hand Wash Only: Fill a clean sink or basin with cool or lukewarm water. Never use hot water, as it will shrink the wool.
Gentle Soap: Add a small amount of mild wool-wash detergent or baby shampoo.
Soak & Squish: Submerge your item and gently squish the water through the fabric. Do not scrub, wring, or twist the wool, as this causes felting and stretching.
Rinse: Rinse thoroughly in clean, cool water until all soap is gone.

💨 How to Dry Your Item

Roll in a Towel: Lay the wet item flat on a clean, dry towel. Roll the towel up tightly with the item inside and press down gently to absorb excess water.
Dry Flat: Reshape the item (smooth out the socks, slippers, or dog jumper) and lay it flat on a dry towel or drying rack. Never hang wool to dry, as the weight of the water will stretch it out of shape.
No Heat: Never put hand-knit wool in a clothes dryer. The heat and friction will permanently shrink and ruin your item.
